AJ, 33, and Kai, 26, took to the dance floor this weekend and performed their Paso Doble but the performance didn’t hit the top scores only securing 28 points and judge Craig Revel Horwood described it as “disappointing”.
The TV presenter later blamed the performance on the skirt of her radiant yellow dress, as she slipped on it during the dance.
Before the mishap on Saturday night, the pair had topped the leader board more than once and haven’t had to face the dance off at all yet and some think the couple could win the whole competition.

AJ took to her Instagram to share a clip of their dance that showed the star slipping on her dress.
She said following their routine: “Olé! Olé! I tell you what honestly, it’s hard. It’s hard enough dancing with Kai and let alone this skirt as well! I had two dancing partners out there, but I loved every moment and I hope everyone at home did, too.”
Kai echoed his partner’s sentiment and added: “Me too.”
She captioned the post to her 171k followers admitting she was “gutted” but the pair “kept going”.
She wrote: “Gutted about the cheeky little slip on my dress during our power Paso tonight but I tried my best & we kept going. Olé!”
Fans were quick to step in and vote for their favourite and took to the post to show their support for the presenter.
One said: “Queen I just voted 20 times, we won’t let you be in that dance off. (Fingers crossed emoji) you were fabulous as always!”
Another penned: “I thought you were fantastic! I didn’t even notice the slip so to have done it and carried on without making it obvious just shows how professional you are. I loved it and you’ve got my 3 online votes… plus 2 phone ones #superfan.”
A third wrote: “Put in a power vote for the dream team. Over 200 phone votes plus email votes. You didn’t deserve to be in that position on the leader board. Onwards and upwards!”
The pair have been earning some impressive scores, with last week getting 39 points out of a possible 40 from the judges for their Charleston.
Judge Shirley Bassey awarded them 10 points for their Charleston but said that she wished she could’ve given them even higher.
