Alison Hammond shares emotional tribute to ‘angel’ mum two years on from her death

Alison Hammond shared a heartbreaking tribute to honour her ‘angel’ mum on the second anniversary of her death.

The This Morning presenter took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of her mum.

The 46-year-old’s heartfelt tribute started with: “Mummy, two years today you left me, and the pain has never left my heart.”

She added: “I love and miss you sooo much. I hear and feel you all the time. My Angel Maria.”

The Loose Woman presenter was flooded with supportive messages after she posted the touching tribute.

Her friend and TV colleague Holly Willoughby, 40, said: “Ah Alison… sending huge love to you,” and added heart emojis.

TV personality Kate Lawler, 41, added: “What a beautiful picture of your Mumma. She will be so proud of all you have accomplished since she passed darling x.”

Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson, 37, wrote: “Ahh Alison.. sending lots of love.”

Alison’s mum Guyanese born Maria, passed away in January 2020 after a liver and lung cancer battle, reports The Mirror.

Alison’s dad Clifford, who lived in Jamaica, had also passed away in June of the same year.

When she broke the news about her parents passing, Alison said she felt a “sense of loss and emptiness”.

A grieving Alison shared that she didn’t get as much time as she would have liked with her father and added that she was “saddened” not to attend his funeral.

When she broke the news about her mum, she wrote: “Today I dedicate Valentine’s Day to my beautiful, wonderful mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer.

“Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of.

“Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that you’re ok and with God in Heaven now. I will always remember you and try to make you proud. I love you mum.”
