Art LaFleur dead: Incredible Hulk actor dies aged 78 after Parkinson’s battle

A Team and Incredible Hulk actor Art LaFleur has died aged 78, following a battle with A-Typical Parkinson’s.

The news was confirmed by Art’s wife Shelley on Thursday after the actor struggled with the disease for over a decade.

In a heartbreaking post, Art’s late wife described the actor as the “love of her life,” adding that he was a “generous and selfless man.”

The couple were together for 43 years and Art leaves behind a daughter, Glenda.

His wife Shelley penned: “This guy… After a 10 year battle with A-typical Parkinson’s, Art LaFleur, the love of my life passed away. He brought laughter to so many people as Babe Ruth in the Sandlot, The Tooth Fairy in The Santa Clause 2 and 3, and Chick Gandil in Field of Dreams to name just a few.

“He was a generous and selfless man which carried over to his acting but more importantly it was who he was for his family and friends. Every location or set we visited him on, the cast and crew would introduce themselves and tell Molly, Joe, and me how Art spoke of us with such pride and love.

“He was never happier than the day this picture was taken, when Glenda LaFleur, who he was overjoyed to have as a daughter, joined our family. I was so very lucky to have had a 43 year relationship with a man who cherished me and who I adored.”

Paying tribute to the late actor, his friends and family were quick to comment on the post.

“Oh so very sorry, I loved him so, for many years…I was part of TLC/Booth casting for Joe Pytka for 40 years and would always love seeing him. So kind, full of life and talent. He will be missed,” wrote one.

Another said: “Shelley so sorry to hear about Art. I didn’t know him well but every time I saw him he was wonderful, one of the sweetest man I can think of. I just wanted to let you know you’re in our thoughts and I’m sorry for your loss. If there’s anything I can do I’m here. Take care of yourself Shelly.”

Art carved out a very successful acting career, starring in the likes of The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Malcolm in the Middle, Hostage, A Cinderlla Story, House Hunting, and many more films.
