The 44 year old, who is well known for playing Honey Mitchell on popular BBC soap opera EastEnders, spoke out about the ordeal that took place in October during an exclusive chat with OK! at the Together For Short Lives’ Ball.
The Together For Short Lives’ Ball, which was sponsored by M&S Food and held in partnership with OK! magazine, aims to raise £300,000 to allow families caring for children with life limiting conditions to make the most of the time they have together.
Wearing a gorgeous glittery green floor-length gown, the former Strictly star explained that comments were also made about her during her time on the competition show back in 2019 with now-judge Anton Du Beke, 55.

“Yeah, there were a lot of messages, you get a lot of messages. I don’t know if it’s an age thing, I’m a lot older than Tilly, but I think you just have to ignore it,” Emma told OK!
The TV personality went on to share her thoughts on Gordon Ramsay‘s daughter Tilly, 19, who is partnered with Nikita Kuzmin, 23.
Emma continued: “You’re the most important person and I think Tilly has done that.
“What I love about her, every week she does something totally different – and she smashes it. I think what a great role model she is.”
The star added that she believes both Tilly and Rose Ayling-Ellis, 26, who recently left EastEnders to focus on her dancing with Giovanni Pernice, are “inspirational”.
Sharing her predictions on who could be in the running to win the programme, Emma went on: “Rose and Giovanni. I’ve fallen in love with so many of them. I love John and Johannes’ partnership, that is simply breathtaking what they’ve brought to the dance floor. I love AJ, Rhys is gorgeous… I could go on.
“I love it, I’m obsessed with it.”

It comes after Tilly recently hit back at Steven, who made a number of disparaging comments about her live on air. She shared on Instagram: “I try not to read and listen to comments and negativity however recently being called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far.
“Steve please feel free voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance. It’s such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative.”
Tilly continued: “This isn’t the first and definitely wont’ be the last comment made about my appearance and I accept that and I’m learning to accept myself. But please remember that words can hurt.
“And at the end of the day I am only 19 and I’m so grateful for all the amazing opportunities I have been able to take part in.
“And I understand that being in the public eye obviously comes with it’s own repercussions and I’ve been aware of this from a young age.”
Tilly went on to say that she “won’t tolerate people that think it’s okay to publicly comment and scrutinise anyone’s weight and appearance”.
