Haverfordwest paddleboard deaths: Wales Police confirm major emergency | UK | News

The emergency services received reports of the incident in the Cleddau River just before 9am on Saturday. Dozens of firefighters, police officers, medics and other experts rushed to the scene to help with the search and rescue operation. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed two women and a man died at the scene, while another woman remains in a critical condition in hospital. A further five people were rescued from the river. 

The force said in a statement: “The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, but it is believed that the group got into difficulty in the water.

“Two women and a man died at the scene, and a woman remains in a critical condition in hospital.

“A further five people were rescued without injury.”
