I’m A Celeb star Louise Minchin has a secret health condition that gives her blue hands.

The 53-year-old revealed she has Raynaud’s Syndrome – a condition that causes decreased blood flow to the fingers and toes.

Symptoms of Raynaud’s include pain, numbness, pins and needles as well as difficulty moving the affected area.

Her condition – which worsens in the cold or when anxious – may be a struggle for her in the colder weather of North Wales, where I’m A Celeb is being filmed.

“I feel the cold really badly, I have this thing called Raynaud’s Syndrome, which means my hands and feet go numb very quickly, even in supermarkets. So cold is a big thing for me.”

However, she will be bringing a ‘luxury item’ into Gwrych Castle with her to help her with the cold.

“I have brought with me a fluffy hot water bottle that actually belongs to my daughter,” she added.

“So not only is it going to be very helpful to keep me warm, but it’ll also remind me of home.”

The former BBC Breakfast host – who left her presenting role recently – believes fans might be surprised once they see her on I’m A Celeb.

Viewers are used to seeing her looking flawless on the morning show, but the challenges of the survival series will show a different side of her.

“Hopefully not a shock, but to see me completely makeup-free and all the rest of it and in the castle clothes,” Louise explained.

“I think they’ll also hopefully be surprised that I’ve got probably more of a sense of humour that they can see on BBC Breakfast. And again, that thing about always seeing the bright side of life and the glass half full rather than anything else.”

The series is finally returning this Sunday, and viewers will get to see celebrities face their biggest fears.

Explaining her reason for going on the ITV show, she said: “Going on I’m A Celebrity is a big adventure. It is very different to sitting on the BBC Breakfast sofa and it will be scary and daunting but it will also be lots of fun.

“I’ve driven past the Castle quite a few times and I am really excited for it to be in Wales again.

“This time last year I had a broken ankle and I literally sat on the sofa at home watching every single minute of it thinking, ‘Oh my gosh that Castle looks incredible, one day I would love to be part of it’ and now I am!”
