Karine Silva wins her first UFC bout in the closing seconds of round one, submitting Poliana Botelho at UFC Vegas 56
Karine Silva gave herself a warm welcome to the UFC at UFC Vegas 56, scoring a submission of Poliana Botelho with five seconds remaining in the first round.
Both ladies started off the fight with strong kicks, with Botelho seemingly getting the better of exchanges once she mixed in jabs.

Silva, however, clipped Botelho with a right hand late and took her down. Silva then sunk in a D’arce choke to get the submission victory.
Silva’s D’Arce choke victory is just the second via the move in UFC women’s history. Tatiana Suarez had the first in May 2018 against Alexa Grasso.
