Newcastle should target Sarr after Wood signing, Borussia Dortmund eye Chelsea star Christensen, Digne joins Aston Villa and takes parting shot at Benitez, Manchester United told Lamptey price tag, Arsenal want Arthur on loan

The January transfer window is in full swing and nobody is busier than Newcastle.

Having already landed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid for £12million, the newly-rich Magpies have snapped up Chris Wood from Burnley in a £20million deal.

Newcastle have also lodged a bid of £28million for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos but have been urged to make a move for Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have also been busy, securing the deal of the window so far by landing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.

The club have also signed Lucas Digne from Everton, with the defender having a parting dig at Rafa Benitez, while Villa winger Anwar El-Ghazi looks set to go the other way and join the Toffees.

Chelsea face losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen but Arsenal are insisting that Eddie Nketiah will not be leaving this month.
