Nick Saban sends a stern message to Alabama player who transferred

Nick Saban apparently had a vision for how much playing time Keilan Robinson would receive with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Too bad Robinson transferred to Texas.

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban sent a pretty strong message when he commented on how a former player would receive playing time had he decided to stick around in Tuscaloosa rather than transferring out to join the Texas Longhorns.

When Keilan Robinson made the choice to move to Texas, he likely envisioned himself getting more carries with the Longhorns and being a star running back for a prominent program.

Unfortunately for Robinson and literally anyone associated with the Texas football program right now, things are bleak for the Longhorns as Texas is reeling from a rough loss to the Kansas Jayhawks.

Oh, and Robinson has only received 27 carries on the year. So far, Robinson has 194 rushing yards and a couple touchdowns on the season.

That’s not great.

Apparently, Robinson’s former head coach had plans to give Robinson some more carries this year.

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban comments on Keilan Robinson’s decision to transfer to join the Texas Longhorns

Saban is a brilliant man and arguably one of the best college football coaches of all time. If you believe his comments here, then it’s fair to assume that Alabama’s head coach had a plan to get Robinson heavily incorporated with the Crimson Tide’s offense this year.

Instead, Robinson is finding out that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. The Longhorns may not make it to a bowl this year while Alabama is working on sneaking its way into the College Football Playoff.

Generally it’s hard to fault a player for transferring for a better opportunity. Unfortunately for Robinson, things haven’t worked out with Texas so far. Maybe they will in the future though.
