Tim Paine, sexting scandal, brother in law, sexual harrassment allegations, Shannon Tubb, SACA, coach

The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is investigating Tim Paine‘s brother in law over allegations of historical sexual harassment.

Paine on Friday suddenly quit as captain of Australia’s Test team when the media was alerted to lewd text messages he sent to a former Cricket Tasmania employee in 2017.

And today his brother-in-law, Shannon Tubb, was embroiled in the sexting scandal when it was revealed the same woman made allegations of sexual harrassment against him.

Tubb was formerly employed by Cricket Tasmania but for the past four years has been working for the SACA in Adelaide as a development coach.

“Mr Tubb, who has all the required police clearances, commenced employment with SACA in 2018 as a talent coordinator and is currently employed as the head coach for the Academy Pathways Program,” the SACA said in a statment.

Taylor rejects claims of toxic Cricket Australia culture

“Since Mr Tubb commenced employment with SACA, there have been no concerns raised directly or indirectly with the organisation in relation to his conduct.

“However, as SACA takes all matters relating to the conduct of our people very seriously, we are engaging with Cricket Tasmania and other parties as part of our own investigations into the matter before making any further comment.”

The SACA only learned of the allegations against Tubb when they arose in media reports.
