Transfer News LIVE: Frenkie de Jong speaks out, Man Utd ‘initiate contact’, Mane latest | Football | Sport

Tottenham are one of several clubs with a keen interest in landing Middlesbrough wing-back Djed Spence, who has turned plenty of heads with his impressive performances while on loan at Nottingham Forest in recent months.

The north Londoners have emerged as the early frontrunners in the race for Spence but will face stiff competition from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Newcastle, Brentford and Forest over the coming weeks, according to football.london.

Spence is said to be open to the idea of joining Spurs, with Fabio Paratici having scouted the 21-year-old in person over the course of this season.

However, the defender is believed to be looking for regular first-team football and would not be keen on signing for a club only to then head out on another loan move elsewhere.
